aGE gROUP openings and criteria

The Indie Chicas are holding tryouts for aspiring female soccer players. We have openings for girls, in all age groups, with the ability and ambition to be their best. It’s not important to be a top player now, however it is important that you have the desire to become your best. If you have the passion and ambition, we are the club for you! Dream big and be a Chica!

Players selection is more liberal in the youngest age groups (9U-13U), as we believe in giving young players time to develop; physically, mentally, emotionally, and soccer specific technique.

Older age groups (14U - 19U) require a more competitive selection criteria that includes, but not limited to: athleticism, technical ability, tactical ability, overall soccer IQ, competitive spirit, ambition, and good attitude. If you have these qualities…then you should be a Chica!

*players can be added to rosters at anytime throughout the season.

tryout details

This is what to expect.

Check-In: Players will arrive, check-in, and be directed to location of their age group tryout.

Tryout: Players will be evaluated by staff for placement consideration, through a variety of games and specific exercises.

Player Selection:

  • Roster Invitation: Selected players will be offered a roster spot. Players and families have 12 hours to accept, and register their child to secure their roster spot. The purpose of the 12 hours is so that coaches have accurate numbers for team formation. $200 deposit is required upon acceptance of the roster spot, deposits are applied towards club fees.

  • Further Evaluation; Selected players will be asked to return for further evaluation, as the staff would like more time to evaluate that player before final selection(s). The purpose of this is, is to provide players more time, as they may have not been at their best that day, but the staff see something in her and would like more time before making final selection.

  • Not Selected; If players does not receive a “roster invitation” or “further evaluation”, players are then encouraged to attend a tryout for a different club/team, as the Chicas coaches may feel she is not ready at this time.
